Save Money & Live Below Your Means

Saving money by living within or below your means is what this blog is all about.  That's why when I saw a commercial today that Monday's Oprah is all about helping people do just that, I immediately thought to myself, "I gotta tell my readers about this one!"

So here I go again, promoting Oprah.  Blah!  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I'm actually not a fan of Oprah.  She's okay sometimes, but usually, I'm not interested.

Every once in awhile, she comes up with something good, though.  If you're having trouble downsizing your life and learning to live without so that you can save some much needed money, pay your bills, and get out of debt, then I encourage you to watch this episode on Monday, just to see what you could learn.

Update:
For those of you who missed the episode or need to review something you saw on the show, visit Oprah's web site for a breakdown of the show and ways to cut back and save money.

I like the way bripblap put it once, don't try to live below your means, but try to GROW your means. I think this latter approach appeals to me better. I still try to hold back on certain purchases (like eating out) when I can, but I really want to be focused on growth going ahead, and this motivates me more than cutting costs (although I try to do that too - and I'm definitely motivated about paying off debt).

Living below your means = AWESOMENESS indeed :) And unlike some people think, it doesn't mean you have to live like a vagabond either. You can still enjoy life and do your thing just the same!
